Exercise and Cellulite
Although cellulite is not a serious matter, it can be aesthetically discouraging. Exercise can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
- Have a regular exercise regimen to burn fat and calories, build muscle, and increase circulation. Exercise promotes muscle toning and skin tightening. The most effective exercise for building muscle is lifting weights. If you build muscle, it helps to plump up the muscles underneath your skin, which makes the skin and fat in that area appear smoother and more taught, as well as more contoured. Aerobic exercise is important to keep your heart healthy, increase circulation, and sweat toxins from the body.
- If you decide to go on a diet to lose weight, consult your physician if you have any health problems that might result in complications if you don't eat 3 regular meals a day. Do not crash diet, as it can be dangerous and exacerbate the problem with fat and cellulite. Ask your physician what sort of diet and/or exercise program is best suited for you.
